Report on the power consumption simulations of SM18 during the reduction of the available electrical power capacity during LS3

Status on 24/07/2024 by S. Machado: there is no simulation that has been made so far. In contact with L. Scibile to get an overview of the maintenance activities in SM18 and waiting for feedback. This action is ongoing.

Action closed on 29/08/2024 following these conclusions:

  • Considering the EL planning presented so far, along with the planning presented by Luigi, the only power limitation identified is during the EN-EL consolidation of SEM12 (approx. 4 months towards the end of LS3).
  • During this phase, the SM18 complex will be supplied via the backup cable from BA7 (power limited to 8 MVA).
  • The situation will be revisited in the future once the plans are more refined.
